Mrs. Jacobs began her career as a Montessori Teacher at ‘Caritas’ Montessori in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka and between 1971 to 1973 at the Paynter Home’s pre-school. After the birth of her first baby she took a break from teaching and was housewife and mother.

However, she continued her studies and qualified as Confidential Secretary, and Book-keeper (IAB – London). Once again she continued her career even though she was now the mother of four sons. She Joined the Bank of Ceylon in 1979. After five years of service, she became the Shipping Manager of a German company in 1985. A Thirst for knowledge continued and she qualified the exams in ‘International Trade’ at the Institute of Exports(London). Finally she retired in 2004 as Senior Shipping Manager of a British Company that owned 3 garment factories.

Mrs. Jacobs was new to the subject of Children’s Home when she took over the management of the Paynter Home in August 2004 under very unusual circumstances. She holds great testimony of her entry to the Paynter Home. Her success story is great. God is the centre of her life and she believes that she reflects God’s love to all children nurtured during her tenure of 8 years.

As Managing Director and Trustee of the Institution, Mrs. Jacobs is responsible for the overall management of Finances, Funds, Staff, children, properties of the Paynter Home and ICM, and represents the organization in all aspects. The chain of command is that all staff report to the Managing Director/Trustee. The Managing Director communicates with the rest of the Trustee of the Board through email and skype. Trustees meet annually and half yearly.
